This time, in addition to our Introduction session, we will also be offering an Intermediate 1 session focusing on how to import certain files into Pressbooks and exporting a variety of file types. For faculty and staff who do not have experience using Pressbooks, it is strongly recommended that they take the Introduction webinar before the Intermediate. These two webinars are conveniently scheduled so they can be taken on the same day. Access Copyright and York, request for webinar participation

Hi BCOEL! I am wondering if any of you would be interested in participating in a webinar (hosted by BCcampus) to discuss the background, implications, ruling of the following Access Copyright vs. York case. For background: York University opted out of the Access Copyright agreement a few years ago and decided to try to police it on their own within their university and push the new fair use clause of the Canadian Copyright act. Access Copyright sued them and appears they have won the case. Hi Friends We have decided to wait a couple of weeks on doing the webinar as we are curious to see how other universities and institutions also react to the case. BCcampus’ Open Education Grants program is supported by both the Ministry of Advanced Education and the Hewlett Foundation. The grants are intended to achieve the strategic goals of the BCcampus Open Education team: * To increase access to higher education, * To improve student learning outcomes, * To increase flexible teaching and learning options for educators.
