BCOEL February Meeting Agenda and Minutes

Hi everyone, Attached is the proposed agenda for our upcoming meeting next week. I met with Clint Lalonde from BCcampus last week and we had a good conversation. He would like the BCOEL Steering Committee’s input for BCcampus’ future plans (item 5 on the agenda). Draft minutes from our January meeting have been uploaded to the Meeting Minutes<https://bcoel.ca/the-bcoel-steering-committee/steering-committee-minutes/> Let me know if you have any items for discussion that should be added to the agenda. See you next week! Hi all, I wanted to share some background information regarding item 4 on the agenda (Open Education Week event). The planning team has shifted the focus of the event since we last chatted. We have invited Autumm Caines, lead instructional designer at the University of Michigan - Dearborn, to chat about how generative AI is sometimes at odds with the core values of the open education movement (transparency, equity, etc.). I am attaching the successful proposal we submitted to BCcampus for funding. Looking forward to chatting more about this with everyone next Monday!
