Dear colleagues, A Zero Textbook Cost pathway to an Associate of Science degree<https://bccampus.ca/projects/open-education/pathway-to-associate-of-science…> is now available, based on existing OER that align with core requirements for Associate of Science programs in B.C. This pathway is designed such that a student could feasibly complete an Associate of Science degree without spending any money on textbooks, as they would only use OER and other free resources. In addition, BCcampus is awarding a grant to Thompson Rivers University so that they may develop their own institution-specific pathway. Calls for Proposals: Open Online Courses and ZTC Marketing Program

Dear colleagues, BCcampus has recently opened two different calls for proposals that are closing in July. The first call for proposals is for the Identification, Evaluation, and Development of Open Online Courses and Open Education Resources<https://bccampus.ca/grants-calls-for-proposals/call-for-proposals-identific…>, which closes July 15, 2020. Proposals will be reviewed as they are received, rather than once the call closes, as the deliverables deadline is August 15.

Update to Open Education Foundation and Sustainability Grants Criteria

Dear colleagues, In light of the financial constraints being faced by B.C.'s post-secondary institutions during the current pandemic, BCcampus has decided to remove the requirement that applicants to the Open Education Foundation Grant for Institutions<https://bccampus.ca/grants-calls-for-proposals/open-education-foundation-gr…> and the Sustainability Grant for Institutions<https://bccampus.ca/grants-calls-for-proposals/bccampus-open-education-sust…> must secure matching funds from their institutions equal to the grant total. These grants' calls for proposals have been updated to reflect this change. If an applicant's institution is willing and able to provide in-kind and/or financial contributions to their proposed project, this information should be included on the grant application. BCcampus’ Online Office Hours

Dear colleagues, I am writing to let you know about online office hours offered by BCcampus to educators in need of support shifting from face-to-face to online instruction. We are offering three sessions this week, the details of which are included below. Working Together, Learning Together Invitation: To educators and anyone doing the work of “pivoting online” who would like to drop in with questions, and/or to hear others’ challenges and solutions. Who is hosting: BCcampus — a passionate group of instructional designers, learning technologists, administrators, and more! And why… We feel the enormous challenge you are facing today and in the weeks to come. We want to offer support, particularly to institutions and educators without access to a large teaching and learning support team. Topics include (but are not limited to): * Human Support/Communications * Exams Online * Experiential Learning Online Expectation setting: We cannot offer or replace institution-specific supports, but we CAN talk through challenges like: * I have an in-class final exam worth 30% – what could I do instead? * My students are freaking out and I can’t keep up with the messages – what can I try? * I want to do a live online session but I’ve never done that before – what can I do? * I have this assignment … I’m not sure how to do it online – do you have ideas?
