Business OER environmental scan

Hi everyone, Sorry in advance if you've already seen this...but we're just trying to get the word out as much as possible! I'm part of a research team doing an environmental scan of business open educational resources (OER). This scan is part of eCampusOntario's<https://www.ecampusontario.ca/> "Open at Scale" initiative. This scan is meant to identify existing (and soon-to-be released) business OER that can be used in college and university-level business courses by post-secondary institutions based in Ontario, Canada. The first step of this project involves reaching out to librarians, instructional designers, faculty, and other OER advocates to identify if there are any: a) pre-existing environmental scans of business OER that can be updated by the research team; b) core sources of business OER for the post-secondary level We've created a survey and we'd love to receive some input from you. Review an open textbook

Hello all, BCcampus is looking to implement a review process for books that we are interested in adding to the collection. Up until now, we have taken that on ourselves. But we often find ourselves looking for the opinion of subject-matter experts before we agree to add a book to the collection. We are soliciting reviews on the following open textbooks on topics in philosophy and project management for engineers : * [ http://builds.openlogicproject.org/courses/phil379/ | Sets, Logic, Computation ] * [ http://forallx.openlogicproject.org/ | forall x: Calgary ] * [ https://wisc.pb.unizin.org/technicalpm/ | Technical Project Management in Living and Geometric Order: A Practical Perspective ] These reviews are meant to help guide our decision process. In a review, we will ask you the following: * to rate a textbook in five different areas from "very poor" to "excellent" * whether you recommend the textbook * for what courses and levels the book is appropriate for. There will also be an opportunity to provide additional comments. These reviews will not be posted publically, and we expect that they should not take longer than 30 minutes. An honorarium of $100 will be provided for each completed review. We will accept applications from instructors with subject-matter expertise who teach at any Canadian post-secondary institution. Provide the book you are interested in reviewing, the institution you teach at, and list the courses that you teach that align with the selected textbook. Hi Everyone, I'm thinking about doing a webinar during Open Education Week where I draw out examples of "open leadership" from all the great work on OER happening across Canada or Alberta (depending on who responds!). The project you share about could be your work creating, adapting, promoting, using, supporting, or anything else about Open Education or Open Educational Resources. See information below: *Open Education Web-a-thon 2019: Sign Up!* Greetings Open Education Friends:Open Education Week (https://www.openeducationweek.org) is coming up March 4-8, 2019. Each year, the Creative Commons community participates in Open Education Week, hosting webinars, giving local talks and sharing CC licensed educational resources.Last year, the CC Open Edu community hosted a 24-hour, around-the world, in multiple languages, series of webinars to share the good work you’re all doing. This year, the CC Open Education Platform and CC Poland are organizing and hosting a CC community 24-hour webinar sprint on March 5-6 (depending on your time zone).We encourage you to keep it simple and participate! Each slot will run for 25 minutes, during which you can: Present the state of open education in your country. Share experiences from your activism or a project that you run - Try a talk that you’ve been working on - Or give a virtual version of a talk you presented at an event in 2018 - We are also happy to host longer discussions between several speakers. We are also looking for people or organizations that will help coordinate the Web-a-thon in their community or region. This includes finding speakers, promoting the event, and moderating sessions. Hi All, I'm hoping that someone has a lead on OER content for an introductory survey course in science (SCIE 2240: Science Past, Present, and Future). The outcomes are broad and include: * Describe the steps in the scientific method * Describe a series of experiments from the history of science that illustrate the elements of scientific method. * Define accuracy, precision, systematic error, and random error as they apply to measurements. * Employ appropriate units for physical measurements. * Define a hypothesis test and identify its components. * Make a conclusion from a formal hypothesis test based on sample data. * Create a written group report on a modern scientific result and the consequences to the prevailing scientific theory or model. * Discuss current trends in science. (This is not an exhaustive list) I have checked OpenStax, Open Textbook Library, OER Commons, BCcampus, Cool4Ed.org, OASIS, and Mason OER Metafinder. I have found a chapter here or there which might be re-written to fit these outcomes. However, I would love to find 2-3 books (possible topics: history of science, scientific method and research techniques, and current/future trends in science) that would cover these topics more comprehensively. I certainly do not expect to find all of this in one place. Any leads would be appreciated!
