I remember previously reading a study or report that showed that overall, institutions make money from OER because the loss of revenue from the bookstore is offset by the additional tuition paid by students who complete, persistent and/or take additional classes. I’ve been combing through my Zotero notes today and cannot find that reference again. Does it ring any bells for anyone? In general, do you know of any articles that speak to the connection between bookstore, OER use, and institutional revenue? I have David Wiley’s 2014 blog post, Steven Bell’s 2017 article, and the Achieving the Dream’s 2018 initiative report.
