Two positive developments at KPU

Hello everyone, Before I sign off for some vacation time I wanted to share two recent developments at KPU which I hope will serve as a model for other institutions: 1. We now have a searchable field in the course timetable for Zed Cred sections. To see how this works watch this video: https://media.kpu.ca/media/Search+the+course+timetable+for+zero+textbook+cos... 2. Our Senate has now approved a policy that integrates a) a search for relevant OER and b) flagging as a potential Zed Cred course in the course development & revision process. Although this seems rather technical, in practice it means that within 5 years (the course review cycle at KPU) all courses will have undergone a search for OER. I am sharing these developments with this group because I am happy to provide guidance for anyone else seeking to achieve either of these two things. Cheers, Rajiv ________________________ Rajiv Jhangiani, Ph.D. Special Advisor to the Provost on Open Education & Psychology Instructor, Kwantlen Polytechnic University<http://www.kpu.ca/arts/psychology> Associate Editor, Psychology Learning and Teaching<http://www.uk.sagepub.com/journals/Journal202353> Ambassador, Center for Open Science<https://osf.io/>

Excellent. Thank you. We’re doing some policy work here in ON, and these will be helpful additions for consideration and emulation. Enjoy your vacation Rajiv. d // David Porter, Ed.D.
