Questions About A Math Open Text
I have an instructor looking to adapt an existing open textbook that is under a CC-BY-NC license, but we can only find it as a PDF. I'm wondering if anyone happens to have or know of a more open version, particularly Pressbooks if possible. See below for details about the book and his question about copyright. Thank you. Hi Heather — I wanted to start a conversation with you about adapting an open textbook for MATH163. I expect you’ll be able to highlight some things to consider as I undertake this project. Hi Heather and everyone, That text came form McGraw-Hill where it was previously published, so LateX is likely not available but yes the authors should be contacted for whatever source they may have. Otherwise best is to strip the text from the pdf, and retain the mathematics as images for now, and redo them properly whenever resources are available. A good amount of effort required! You can let your instructor (Chris?) contact me for guidance.
