As you come to understand yourself as an self-directed learner, you will also be introduced to effective learning strategies: time management for online learners, information management, professional communication, and reading strategies. I know that the Commonwealth of Learning has made huge efforts in supporting Commonwealth countries in the development of National OER policies, but looks like that hasn't resulted in significant impacts in the respective countries... and some historical information on the evolution of Open in Canada and the role BCcampus has played. Hi there fellow Open Educators, Attached is an infographic that you can use/modify if you are using an OpenTextbook in your class. There was a discussion on the CanadaOer group about the importance of students knowing that they are using an open textbook and why it is important. Then Christina from Montana State U Library created and shared this infographic which they use to "educate" their students.
