Hi there fellow open educators, Open Education week<https://www.openeducationweek.org/> is just around the corner: March 4 to March 8. BCIT is collaborating with other post-secondary education institutions in the Lower Mainland to host an event on March 6 at KPU: Open in Action 2019 Open Education Week is a global celebration of free and open sharing in education. On March 6th, join BCcampus and post-secondary partners at KPU-Richmond for a day of hands-on learning to mark the occasion. Gather with faculty, librarians, instructional designers, educational technologists and other education stakeholders for a program that aims to connect ideas with action. Participants will discuss the theoretical foundations and application of open licenses, how to find and use open education content, and much more. The event will also highlight resources and projects from B.C. campuses and beyond that demonstrate open education in practice. Participants will leave with practical ideas for opening their day-to-day work and deeper connection to the local open education community. This is a free event open to all, but registration is requested. Date: March 6, 2019 Time: 8:30am - 3:10pm Location: KPU Richmond Campus<http://www.kpu.ca/maps-directions> - Wilson School of Design, room 4900 Registration: https://events.eply.com/OpeninAction2019 Cost: Free!
