This latest issue highlights six external grants recently awarded to KPU faculty for OER projects, seven recently-published open textbooks, upcoming workshops and funding opportunities, and exciting news about a new partnership between KPU and the Open University of Sri Lanka. Congratulations Michelle Nakano, BCcampus grant recipient!

Congratulations to Science & Horticulture instructor Michelle Nakano on receiving one of five BCcampus open education development grants as part of the Open Homework Systems (OHS) project. The grants will be used to add H5P<https://h5p.org/> interactive formative assessment activities to five Pressbooks open textbooks in the B.C. Open Textbook Collection. Learn about the grant and read about Michelle's project here: https://bccampus.ca/2020/07/06/homework-high-five-bccampus-awards-five-open… Michelle and her colleague Betty Cunnin were previously awarded a BCcampus grant<https://bccampus.ca/2019/12/03/oer-for-the-trades-grant-recipients/> to develop an open textbook for the Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist Apprenticeship (Levels 1 and 2<https://kpu.pressbooks.pub/plant-identification/>). This April, Michelle received an additional grant<https://bccampus.ca/2020/04/28/expanding-open-education-in-the-trades/> which allowed her to continue her project on Line F (Levels 3 and 4).

Zero Textbook Cost Pathway to Associate of Science Degree by BCcampus

Dear colleagues, A Zero Textbook Cost pathway to an Associate of Science degree<https://bccampus.ca/projects/open-education/pathway-to-associate-of-science…> is now available, based on existing OER that align with core requirements for Associate of Science programs in B.C. This pathway is designed such that a student could feasibly complete an Associate of Science degree without spending any money on textbooks, as they would only use OER and other free resources. In addition, BCcampus is awarding a grant to Thompson Rivers University so that they may develop their own institution-specific pathway. BCcampus Faculty Pivot to Teaching Online survey
