Embracing Open Education: OEN Open Pedagogy Learning Circle
Hi everyone! The Open Education Network (OEN) is running another Open Pedagogy Learning Circle next semester. If you’re interested in open pedagogy and want to learn more about 1) what it is, and 2) how to do it, I encourage you to consider taking this learning opportunity. I participated in this a few years ago and it was a great experience that helped me to solidify my understanding of open pedagogy. If you do end up applying, I’d love to know so that I can support you in any way that I can. Dear OEN Community, The Open Pedagogy Learning Circle is a great opportunity for members to: * Build a foundational understanding of open pedagogy. * Discover how open pedagogy can be incorporated in the classroom. * Gain hands-on experience creating a renewable assignment or digital learning object. Natasha Whitton, Associate Professor of History at Baton Rouge Community College, was one of 10 participants in the fall 2025 Learning Circle Show & Tell. She presented her work with Perusall<https://www.perusall.com/>, an online social learning platform, to transform a discussion board assignment that will help her students share thoughts on course materials more freely. Looking back, Natasha says she finds the Learning Circle to be "a warm hug for faculty, staff, and administrators who want to embrace open education inside and outside the classroom." The next Learning Circle begins in February 2026, welcoming members to explore and engage in open pedagogy at no additional cost. Visit the OEN Blog<https://z.umn.edu/aw13> to learn more and sign up on the 2026 Interest List. Thanks!
